Veterinary dentistry is important for the oral and overall health of dogs and cats. The Modified Triadan System provides a universally accepted, standardised three-digit method for precise tooth identification during clinical assessment, diagnostic imaging and therapeutic intervention. Dental problems that are common include periodontal disease and tooth resorption. Modern veterinary dentistry includes preventive care, radiology, periodontal and endodontic treatment, oral surgery and non-cosmetic orthodontics. Systematic dental charting using the Modified Triadan System streamlines diagnostic accuracy and inter-professional communication, ultimately supporting optimal patient management and clinical outcomes.
